Can't tune the UTEC

Well I think mine took a dump. Although the car runs perfectly with it, I cant do anything to it which I really need to. I need to turn the damn launch control off, I cant rev past 5500 right now and thats annoying.

I was going to re-flash with 1.7 again but if I still couldn't access the utec I would be screwed since the car is my daily driver. I can't log with it either. I've tried 4 different serial cables and I still get the handshake problem.

The tunerpro works perfectly.

that sucks man,

I just took mine out last night along with the dtec map sensor. Hav you connected directly to the utec and bypassed the tunapro yet? I was never able to upload maps when connected via the tunapro.

Anyway, if you need an extra unit let me know, I'll sell ya mine on the cheep.

Whatever happened with this? Just this afternoon, I couldn't connect to mine no matter what I did. The car ran fine, but I noticed the check engine light didn't flash the map number when i turned the car on. About 5 miles down the road I noticed my check engine light flash as if there was knock. I pulled over, whipped out the laptop and viola! I could connect. I've been messing with it for about an hour now and can't get it to reproduce the non-connectivity, but just curious if you found something out.

Dryad took his utec out completly and is runing a flash from jester, it runs twice as good now. His Utec is still junk. He is going to send it in the TXS and then sell it.

Sometimes it would lock me out and then start working again. whe i start the car it never really tells me what map im on anymore. I can't wait to get some money for something else to tune my car with.

I'm beginning to think that this may have been one of my worst investments.

Agreed.

As far as connecting to the UTEC goes, you may want to check to make sure your cable hasn't failed. Mine did and I got a new one off ebay for 5 bucks shipped.

I double checked the cable and couldn't see any kinks or breaks in the insulation. I have spares in my basement, maybe I'll carry an extra in my car just in case.

mine didn't have anything obvious as far as breaks, kinks, cuts etc.. and it would work someof the time, just every once in a while it would freak out. You're going to need a male/male cable for it to work.

Here is my plan, Maftrans with a GM MAF, ECUflash cable, and a base map to start from. total cost with a new 4" intake pipe is around $650, maybe sell the utec and get $400-500....done deal, setup good for xxxwhp!

Utec is a wat of time when you start getting up in the high hp

I've been considering that route as well.

Exactly what i thought. I want every TXS product out of my car ASAP. I am going to be selling the Tuner Pro as soon as I find a different wideband.

Right now the UTEC is a paperweight and TXS said they wont directly look at it. They want me to send it back to the place where I bought it and have them send it in. Not happening since the place where I bought it is no longer in business. So it looks like Im out of luck.

Like Nez said the car had been tuned by Jestr.

Im giving a big to TXS. Thanks for not standing behind your product.
