I sell Vi-PEC EMSs. I know not super popular yet but a great product.
Im not a tuner. We're using a pretty good tuner from Europe.

We've done this test few times just to answer this very question

So we have a car thats on the dyno and tuner says thats it. Car wont make any more.
Switch to Vi-PEC and guess what. Within 30 mins it will make more.

As I said. Im not the tuner and dont remember his explanation (something with knock correction) but we've tried this few times and with same results

As far as gains, one car I think maxed out at about 350 at the wheels and tuner managed to squeeze another 20hp on the EMS

I think the stock ecu is great! MAP made 1000 something hp with it.

If it's just knock correction differences then your tuner needs to do more research about knock correction on the stock ECU.

I assume it's more then that to him/her but that's just what you remember him/her saying.

I'm not swaying either way with this post, just adding information.
