The hks site? i did a google search and got all Japanese pages. Must be a very new product, but it's definitely worth mentioning. Hopefully someone out there knows more than I do.

what would that thing actually 'do'...?
I wouldve thought the stock (or flashed) ECU would be in the best position to control valve timing, I would never trust it to a piggy back unit unless there was a really, really good & convincing reason
Which there might be....does anyone know?

Reading my mind treo. From the looks of it, I'm still basing what I know off of what the unit does and it seems that current ecu flashing software/hardware allows for the same thing. This is just a more standalong approach aka piggyback as you put it. Much the same way as the Apexi SAFC controls fuel trim.

No wait thats the exact opposite of a good reason to buy something like this.
Flash control is the best (most accurate) and also happens to be cheapest way to control MIVEC.
