is there anyway to tell if my stock ecu has been flashed? if so how can i tell if it has been? i bought the car use and i can tell that it has been modified. the ecu has the previous owners name and "ok" wrote in pen on it.

Most of the flashes that i have seen will raise your rev limiter to like 7800 or so. take it up and see if it will go there. ALso see if it has a lauch control that is a popular add on for the 03-04 evos also

 

what is the stock rev limiter?

download the map through ECU flash. is the primary and secondary (hi low octane maps) the same?If yes, then its been flashed (but not AL tuners do this) or compare your high octane map to another Evo that hasnt been flashed of same year and model. Having saved all of my maps from a couple of tuners thats what Id do.

As previouse posts have said, you need to look at map that you know the value of in the stock flash and compare it to the map in your ECU. Rev limit on my JDM car 7606 RPM.
