Turbotrix or XEDE

-06 IX MR

-Wondering if I should take my car to tt or buy the xede. Which will give me more gains in power? Explain this to me, with the xede i just plug it into my ecu and download a tune from my computer? I would like to raise my boost, and my biggest problem is i want to gain power from 5000rpm+. The car pulls real well from 3500-5000. So which do you think is a better option.

-If i go to TT i will buy the vishnu sig. tbe, hallman mbc, k&n drop in, 255 fuel pump, boost gauge

I have had the Xede for some time now, no problems with it. If You go Xede, you wont need the MBC. It sounds like a flash is all you are going to need. Here is the most important question to ask yourself. Are you going to "tune" it yourself? ie: tweak the maps? or are you going to have it tuned by a tuner. Can TT tune the Xede? If no to both questions, you have to wait and hope there is a Dynoday near you. Look to see how many dynodays Shiv has has out by you, and how frequently he does them out your way. That is the only "issue" I have with the Xede. getting it tuned quickly. my 2c.

I have to agree with "smoked" I started with the XEDE and had no problems. But as I continued to mod, I decided that I needed a local, professional tuner. So I went to Turbotrix, had an AEM installed and tuned by them and I live happily ever after. I run my car thru the summer, decide what mods I want to do next, save some scratch and bring the car to TTrix in Feb. or Mar. and have the work done with the retune. This winter will be my third year going down to them. Its about a 4 hour ride for me, but worth it. This is not meant to "dis" any other tuner. From what I read, ther are alot of reputible shops. I'm just giving you my expierence.
Also, I believe that Shiv does in fact have a dyno day at TTrix from time to time.
A bit of advice, check in your state to see if AEM= no inspection sticker. You may want to just get a flash. But its nice to have a shop close by that is open 6 days a week to solve any issues that may come up.
Got an XEDE in the box in my basement I'll sell you.

LOL can't wait till your back in Feb. FOG.. your car is going to be rather fast when you get her back ;]. Also, Mark can tune Xede.. although it isn't his preferred way to tune.. we can work with whatever you have.. FOG had some serious plans for the car, we just felt the AEM EMS would be the better setup.
