Cool

Attached are the dyno plots of my tune from Cobb.

From left to right:
Stage 1 smoothed
Stage 1 detail (AFR, engine noise (volts), torque, boost, HP)
Stage 2 smoothed (TBE)
Stage 2 detail (AFR, engine noise (volts), torque, boost, HP)

Again this is for the 2003 & 2004 Evos w/ 9.8 cm^2 hotside. 2005 + numbers are higher. Couldn't be happier w/ stage 1 & Cobb is awesome to work with!

Blue,
I'm very confused. Your initial post stated that you only have a Cobb Stage 1.

Then you post both Stage 1 and Stage 2 dyno plots of YOUR car.

Then you state again that you only have Stage 1.

Please clarify.

Jim,

They are using my car for beta testing of the stage maps.

Cobb developed a stage 1 map on my otherwise stock 2003 Evo, then installed a prototype TBE and developed a stage 2 map. They put the stock exhaust back on the car so that I could run the stage 1 map for a while to verify that there were no problems with the tune (none yet!).

Cobb is working hard at getting this product out. I don't believe they are slow they are just very thorough. They had to make sure the new subaru port was perfect before releasing it and that delayed the Evo port. They had NEVER set a release date but more of a estimate for release. They were hoping for the end of january but since the subaru ports did not come out until December it got moved.

The ports will be awesome and many people will love them. In every thread about cobb you will get the ECUflash fan boys saying it is worthless but in every thread I have listed why the cobb is a better product for some people. And in every thread people have agreed that they would choose it over ECUflash for those reasons.

I talk to cobb on almost a daily basis and as soon as the port is available for the evo I will be buying one. Even if the owner make me pay retail to get one of the first ones

I just got off the phone with Trey Cobb and we had a long talk about the production process and release. I think the end of the month is a little optimistic. First of spring or late winter sounds a little more on par with there current schedule.

Right now Cobb has a couple people doing some BETA testing for them and the second a complete unit is available for testing they are sending on to AMS for martin to poke around with.

We are all super excited about the system and I personally can't wait to get one on my car.

Eric

I've been an advocate for the AP ever since my friend got a few years ago BUT I'm not sure I'm willing to pay $700 for 20hp. Im hoping numbers are MUCH more impressive for the IX

Check out the other AccessPORT thread for Evo VIII RS numbers (10.5 cm^2 hotside).

As Jim stated:

"
Evo 8 RS:
Stock: 227 HP & 240 lb/ft
Stage1: 266 HP & 248 lb/ft
Stage2: 282 HP & 260 lb/ft

So, gains are:
Stage 1 = 39 HP & 8 lb/ft
Stage 2 = 55 HP & 20 lb/ft
"

The larger outlet just allows the car to take more boost (I've seen the plots). I imagine that the IX will be even higher. So yes, more substantial gains.

The nice thing about my flash is that the car pulls to redline so much better than stock, where it just kind of quit.
