Driving i think i got a hold of it, i officially have two years of auto cross experience with my EVO , its the biggest rush driving auto cross, actually my last ten runs I never ran off course or even hit a cone not even once, my times are improving greatly.

I'm thinking this winter to increases the engine performance and suspension, and figured this is the best place to ask.

So if anyone can post a list of mods in that price range it will be great, I don't have the Idea where to start or finish.

Thanks Guys

hmm... 05 Evo. For power, I'd just do a downpipe and a high flow cat, and a retune. The next step would be to go full exhaust, cams, fuel pump, etc. for power. But I'd budget about 4-5k for suspension once the stock suspension wears out.

But I still recommend the driving school first. Honestly, 2 years of auto-x experience means squat. Heck, I'd only been to about a dozen auto-x's and was kickin peoples asses that been doing it for years. I finished like 83rd in the nation out of 26000 in the Mazda RevItUp and I'm not even that great.

You'll learn more in those 3 days of instruction and track time then you'll ever learn on your own, period. They all have classroom instruction, full data analysis from the onboard data acquisition from your track time, etc.

Plus, it's a huge rush! Once you do some road course time, auto-x gets boring.

depending on what you are looking for power wise. Take a look at my signature below. Thats a good place to start. Having an 05 (no MIVEC) you have many options for cams as well. If you can do everything your self, the only service you would have to pay for is a good tune. guys have seen around 370 with cams I think. also check out the warrtalon kit from Bucshure Racing.

GT35would be a HUGE difference in car. I would go with the warrtallon kit from bucshure kits. I did TBE(799 shipped), 02 housing(100), fuel pump(76), MBC(80ish), and Bucshur cone filter(80) I would say for about 1500 you can have those mods and be tuned. If you go with the bucshur stage its even cheaper. the only reason I didnt go with it is because I wasnt crazy about the look of the BR Exhaust. I have seen it in pictures, and looked ok, but saw a few in person and didnt really dig it. BUT it is super light, fitment is PERFECT, and makes awesome power. if you want to go faster. add cams, if you want more boost add meth. you can get near the 400whp makr for much less the money you are prepared to spend.

What do you want to do with the car? No way to answer the original question without knowing what your goals are for the car in the first place. What areas do you feel are lacking? What do you want the main strengths to be when you are done?

Thanks for asking- I am really looking to better my times in autocross events, and occasionally show who's boss on the highway.

For suspension i will do coilovers, they will come after the mods maybe in july somtime.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions

I have money to spend to but I want to save it.

Just go with the typical modifications. TBE, drop-in airfilter, IX BOV and some type of flash or piggy back. You know just the typical.
