i was using pocket logger on my old powerbook with vpc running win2k and that worked fine. just tricky finding a serial to usb that actually worked.
i'm looking at the cable now but don't see a name on it. and i can't remember where i got it. sorry.

i picked up a macbook pro and use bootcamp now to boot up as pc. i haven't tried logging yet but my g2x data acquisition comes up fine

hope it helps(but probably not much)

A little bit. The tactrix cable works fine with ECUFLASH as I am able to upload. My virtual PC is running windows XP but its pretty slow, wasn't sure if a logging program needed a quick connection...

You try to use evoscan ever? I'm thinking about testing that.

MBP and Parallels with an XP SP2 installation gets me 99% of tuning and logging done. Ecuflash, Evoscan and Mistulogger all work very well, and is just as fast as (if not faster) bootcamp.

The only hiccup is that Zeitronix's logger/maintenance program doesn't like something in the virtualization. I can log WBAFR in mitsulogger/evoscan, even boost and EGT in mitsulogger, but I can't connect to the ZT-2 directly to change certain parameters.

This is the *only* time I reboot into bootcamp to adjust anything for tuning.

Unfortunately, no.

My wife has a 12" powerbook which would be a much nicer form factor to log with, but VMWare/VirtualPC don't support USB devices well enough to handle logging (generic serial-to-usb) let alone flashing (FTDI serial-to-usb).

I know donour (I think that is his screen name on evom, definitely on aktivematrix) has an OSX ecuflash build, but AFAIK, it is not ready for general consumption. If his work is successful, native logging and reflashes will be a reality on any OSX machine. I'd bug him

I'm thinking about moving to a UMPC like the Asus R2H, Samsung Q1
or OQO 02 for logging and tuning. Any of these I could hook up to the tactrix cable, start logging, toss it into my armrest, and do my runs. They're also small enough to take with you when you leave the vehicle (mine is a DD)

Thanks for the help. My tactrix cable works fine with my Virtual PC for using ECUFLASH (so far)... I just "read from my ECU" last night and everything came up fine. I just downloaded a newer version of mitsulogger last night.. I'll take a run tonight and let you know if I can get anything. I'll try and bother donour and see if he has any suggestions.

Here are the updates for anyone who may be interested.

Virtual PC can run ecu flash and evoscan but not properly. My Virtual PC on a Powerbook G4 runs at 200-some mhz. evoscan can run fine on 300mhz machines and above. Looks like I will be looking for a cheap tuning computer.

bump, I'd like to hear more about mac book pro's and bootcamp

what errors do you encounter? So the parallels are different from bootcamp?

Bootcamp is a windows machine with full USB support. If you need to log with serial connections (ie Innovate or Zeitronix wideband) you'll need a *good* usb-to-serial adapter. I use a Keyspan U19HS with 100% success in bootcamp.

Parallels build 3150 worked well for me with the above setup with 90% of my tuning done in that environment. Any build since then (any build with USB 2.0 support) would result in a BSOD (in parallels) after about 5 secs of logging. I did not trying flashing.

Some issues I encountered with build 3150:
Logging with EvoScan would sometimes lockup the USB port. To fix, I would have to unplug and reconnect the cable. Sometimes doing this would BSOD windows and I'd have to restart the image.

This may be particular to the Zeitronix wideband I use, but sometimes that COM port would get locked up and I would be forced to restart windows to reset it.

Other than that, it has been really solid.

I'm running ECUFlash and EVOScan v0.99 under VMWare Fusion on my MBP (intel) and have had no problems.

e-mail donour. He has plenty of experience with Macs and Evos. There is wrong information in this thread.

I have this exact problem... sorry for bumping an older thread, but Mac in on the rise, and more of us will be having this problem.

Anyone ever figure it out?

Funny thing is that my LC1 wideband work fine with Logworks, and Evoscan works fine too. However try and log the wideband WITH Evoscan and it is a bust.
