Question my evo9 RS need 350hp+

hi guyz well im new here and i wanna ask u some q.

ok i have the new evo 9 RS and i was told its has 275 hp i dont know if its right ??
also they told me that my car has 1.2 bar boost !!! how is stock car have this boost since i didnt install my boost gauge i dont know if its true??

ok my car is new and if u want the truth didnt like the stock power of it at all

ok so this is the list of what i bought till now :

1- HKS turbo outlet + down pipe
2-costum test pipe
3-GREDDY titanium exhaust
4-walbro in tank fuel pump
5-greddy boost controler
6-HKS blow valve
7-EXEDDY single clutch
8-HKS intercooler
9-APexi afc (air fuel ratio )

ok now since i have all these parts and im gonna fit it in this week how much hp u guyz think ill get ??? i did a search on the net and found many evo cars has 360 hp with 1.5 bar boost !!! thats cool .

second q. whats the maximium boost i can go without any problems and screwing my engine??? can i raise the boost tell 1.6 or 1.7 ????

one last q. some guyz told me that the apexi i have is **** and wont take me to this boost???? but i had a toyota supra before and with the apexi afc i went easy 1.8 bar with a greddy t78 single turbo and didnt face any trouble???? so why some ppl saying that the afc isnt good 4 an evo and espiacally for getting 1.5 or 1.7 bar boost??????

and thanks alot for letting me join ur nice forum

You don't have a boost gauge? If not, I would not install a boost controller until you get one.......

The HKS BOV needs to be set up to re-circulate the air back into the intake tube, not VTA, as it will cause stalling issues.

With the parts that you are going to install I would not spend the money/time/effort to change out the clutch to an Exedy single disc clutch, especially since that is basically what the EVO has stock. Your stock clutch will be fine for the parts you have and will last a fairly long time. Use the install money from the clutch to get a custom ECU Flash.

I don't know much about the APexi AFC, however it is your boost controller that is going to dictate how much boost you run.......

No...he is saying your stock clutch can handle the additional power your purchased mods will add......The Exede Single Disc is only marginally better than stock.....but better than stock none the less. He said you could use that money saved from leaving the stock clutch in for a boost controller.....for example..or whatever other mod you are considering.

I would ditch the S-AFC and get setup to flash the ecu so you have complete control over the ECU... see sig for details. Your car is going to move more air through it with the new mods which will put you into a higher load column that has significantly less timing so it's not going to get the gains it should.

guyz

i have 3 of ma friends they have less modification and they did f**k the stock clutch . thats why i did buy the exeddy .

ok i now guyz i asked u that i had an Apexi afc on ma subra before and everything was ok and perfect even with high boost ??

i only wanna 1.6 or 1.7 boost on am evo why is apexi afc not enough even programming the ecu wont do nothing with my ignition only changing maps and small things !!! so why do i have to ditch my afc????

so guyz aprxmtly how much hp u think ill gain ???? with 1.6 or 1.7 ????

The s-afc can only adjust fuel and it does it in a very crude way by lying to the ECU about the incoming air (less air means the ecu has to send less fuel etc..). When you do that, the computer sees a lower amount of airflow than there really is and it thinks it's not under as much load so it will ramp up the timing. The more you lie about airflow to the ecu the worse it gets, you have no real control over timing and have no way to pull timing back where you need to either. The fuel control isn't precise either because it's done based on RPM vs TPS and not RPM vs Load which is how our cars work.

I run 24psi on mine daily with 93 octane but I'm tuned to perfection so that I can do it and not get any signficant knock.

get another bov. the HKS is ... no good.
The MR one or the factory what you have is better, waaaay better. I would get the O2 housing from e-bay ./extra at least 10 hp/
You need a dropp in if you need 350 whp./example K&N ,Blitz/
if you already spend money for FMIC then get a LICP. From AMS or NISEI./NISEI is cheap and very good quality,$135 if i remember right/

i have different set up on my 9 RS maybe it help:
e-bay O2 houising
TurboXS downpipe
e-bay test pipe /resonated/
Tanabe medalion Touring cat back
HKS RS intake with K&N cone
Forge MBC
NISEI LICP
XS Engeneering FMIC
Bushur UICP
Greedy RS BOV
Walbro 255 Fuel pump.
at most of all Sean Ivey tune...

359 whp and 340 wtq at 23 psi. @ 80 farenheit. 93 octain.

Now my set up is not making a most whp but try to make high number with quiet set up.Wich is worked preatty well since my car is so quiet everybody bealive i have only cat back...

a reason i'm telling you this 'cos my resonated test pipe and the Tanabe medalion turing is robbing power.

so if you get this set up, you should have more whp then i have. Since the GREDDY titanium exhaust and the costum test pipe should give you more hp.

What I meant was that the clutches that Mitsubishi uses are basically the same as that exedy.

I would wait until the stocker goes before replacing it, why waste the money now, when you can use it for upgrades? (Clutch install $600.00 minimum)

I would get rid of the BOV that you have and get the JDM MR, or maybe a FORGE.

If you search here there are literally hundreds of people who have at bare minimum gotten 15k out of the clutch, and many others that are still on it after 30k+ miles.

Don't use the SAFC, get a tune it will be much better and allow you to extract the power that you want out of your aftermarket parts.

Again use the search feature and you will get confirmation of what we are telling you.....

ecuflash and cams will you shoot you over 350 whp easy.
i'm not racing on street so i did not have raced against those. But i did raced vs BMW 335 coupe /twin turbo/ The guy came out from the dealer ship and jumped on me... No race for me , they are slower then i thought.
I even say ,maybe the factory 9 are faster then them. No big deal.
i haven't got road track against them yet. but last year i got m5 in autox, what a joke.I do not understand why anybody wants to drive m5 in autox.
