There is another solution..... You can get the cams installed, then contact a tuner here in the states and have them send you a custom tune via email......

All you will need is a tactrix cable, Laptop, and Flashing software which is very in-expensive. Don't worry about using Ecutech ($1000 for the license).

This way you should be able to "Have your cake and eat it too".

Dynoflash, TTP, Jestr, Etc. they all do tunes by email. YOu send them like $50, tell them what you have in your car, they send you a custom tune via email. You load it, log some runs and send the log back to them, they tweak their tune and send you a new one, etc.

or tuning my ecu and throw the afc if u were in ma place guyz and ur searching 4 more hp what choice ull choose????
you're welcome and hands down you'll make more power with a custom ecu tune over the s-afc, it's no contest. check out the link in my sig for some information about how the process works and I have a video tutorial as well to help you understand the equipment needed. Let me know if I can help

We have proprietary mapping for the GSC Evo IX MIVEC cam that would really wake up the car. Let us know when your units are installed and ready to be tuned and we can work our mapping into your ECU.

start from stock again:

1) MR BOV
2) EBC and run 19psi
3) exhaust, catback and frontpipe are essential, cat and dump are optional
4) tune (mail in) or proper dyno time for most power

that should get you pretty close to 350... if not more..

I spoke with an Exedy representative last weekend at Road Atlanta, and he claims that Exedy is the OEM clutch supplier for the EVO.

If that is not the case, some one let me know...

There is truth to that, but the units they sell in my experience are different. The discs even smell different.

Here's the thing........ The stock clutch is basically the exedy (slightly different than what they sell aftermarket), The ACT is basically the Exedy as they buy their parts from Exedy. (ACT makes their own modifications to it though).

So, Exedy, Stock, ACT are all really close to each other when you are only considering a single disc clutch.

TTP

I went to Exedy's website....

Apparently Daikin Clutch USA makes OEM clutches (for the EVO it is Part Number: MBK1001) and now Daikin Clutch USA is called EXEDY Globalparts Corporation (USA) which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the EXEDY Corporation of Japan.

I guess we were both correct. The Stock clutch is an Exedy but not really.

Globalization... pretty soon all automotive parts will be made by the same company.

It looks like your Exedy clutch is better than stock.
