Do I need a S-AFC 2 if I get a ECU reflash?

I was wondering, will I need an S-AFC II to tune my car if I'm getting a ecu reflash by Turbo Trix anyways?

I will have the following mods:

- Hallman manual boost controller
- HKS RS intake
- HKS downpipe
- 3" gutted cat
- HKS Hi-Power exhaust
- Walbro fuel-pump
- HKS 272/272 cams
- Greddy type-s BOV
- Custom intercooler piping

If I have these mods and get them installed and have my ecu reflashed by Turbo Trix, will a APEXi S-AFC II unit benefit me at all?

Or should I just sell it?

Sell it. Your flash tune will be specific to your setup. Unless you change things, it will be the ideal tune and something you don't want to fiddle with.

what would be the difference if he had the safc tuned instead of the reflash.

It might be useful if you ever run higher octane race gas and want to run slightly leaner at those times because of the added resistance to knock. To be safest, you'd still want to have the S-AFC tuned (on top of your reflash) with the race gas you planned to run.

Biggest differences would be no direct ignition timing control, no boost limit increase, no rev limit increase

Thanks for your help guys

Also, do I need to have anything done to my car to allow it to run race gas? Like take my cat out or anything? I've never run race gas before, so i j/want to make sure of what I should or shouldn't do.

Thanks again!

If you're spending all that money on installing 272s and a GT35R, why go with a S-AFC? Get something that can control your timing as well as your air/fuel mixture. S-AFC can only lean/richen things up. I'm surprised that your tuner hasn't tried to talk you into an EMS or a piggy-back system.

Whether your tuner is tuning with a wideband o2 to get "X" A/F ratio or leaning things out until knock and richening up a few %, it does not matter if you're Dynoflashed or not.

If it's unleaded, you don't have to do anything.

If it's leaded, you might want to think about removing your cat for racing, as the lead will kill it pretty soon.

Your O2 sensors will also be affected, although more slowly. They're a few hundred bucks (each) to replace when they go bad.

Is any one better than the other?

Any drawbacks to unleaded?

Thanks

Bare with me people...
I'm trying to learn as much as I can by reading thru as many threads as I can..

I've been reading and I see some people have seperate maps for RACE gas.

So if I have my turbo trix reflash tuned for 93octane. Will I need an S-AFC to be tuned for a race gas map?

IF somebody could explain to me why or why not, i would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!
