272's and tune

We all know if you get cams/pump a tune is a must. I dont know any tuners around town and would be sometime before I could get someone to tune it. So how long could the car run with 272/pump and boltons (exhaust,nocat,21lbs,bov,LICP,o2) Mind you my car hasnt had a tune yet...yes ,not smart but for some reason i've had the hardest time finding someone to tune it.

Should I just keep waiting or how long is too long runing around with cams and no tune ? (iam already having fuel cut off) Wideband reading 10.2 WOT sometimes.

you really need to get tuned asap, I certainly wouldn't be doing any WOT pulls.

Tico, we really need to get together and get that car tuned for you. We are a short drive from Tampa and the difference is night and day from where you are at now. I would get with Glen (CT9A-MR) @ www.tampabay.dsm.org and ask him about his tuning experience with us.

We are also tuning the Evom project Evo within the week.

Send us a PM and we can go over scheduling and pricing.

Thanks

TTP

Get a tune. I drove for one night with new cams installed, had a tune the next day and huge difference.

MPG goes down without a tune. Goes up with a tune.

Cams typically richen AFR mixtures as the MAF frequency rises.

Well its a good thing you'll be working on my car.

I ran my car for two weeks with HKS 272s and not tune. I just kept it under 5k RPM and off boost. I had a tuning date with AMS set up though. I didnt read this whole thread and maybe you have plans, but I would suggest installing your cams and pump and whatever else and then do an AMS mail-in flash.

Well about a month I was going to do just that have a SNR install my Cams and do a mail in flash. But it never worked out. But so far I have spoken to the guys at TTP and Hope to get a date in soon to get cams installed and custom tune. Thats the plan so far. I've had the cams for over 5+ months waiting to go in. I think its about time I either get them in or sell them.

Well kind of. Every car is different and every tune is different. For myself I used to get 250/tank untuned with boltons. Now after 272's O2 and Custom tune I am barely getting 196miles. If I do daily driving with out racing anyone I can get 200miles. Once I start doing pulls for get about it I got 170miles the first week I got my car back... Love the car now just hate the MPG... nice trade off.

Just make sure you tell your tuner what kind of driving style you have. He'll get setup right.

I know I bugged the heck out of Scott , still do so sometimes(lol). But if you don't ask you'll never learn.
