ecu question

ecu question

i searched and couldnt find my answer or one close to it. i have a flashed ecu in my 06 MR. my buddy has an 06 non MR. will the ecu work in his car and is it as simple as taking mine out and putting it in his? or is there other things i need to do to make it work for him. also if it is as simple as putting it in his car will it make a difference being mine is 6 speed and his is 5 speed? thanks in advance

1. It won't work without changing the imobilizer code in the ecu to match the stock ecu.

2. There is no need to swap the ecu's. Just get a tactrix cable and try your map in his ecu.

3. There is no such thing as a one size fits all tune. Every car is different to some extent from teh rest. Simple things like an aftermarket intake can totaly throw off a tune. His best be is to go get a custom reflash tune.

I'm pretty sure the fact that one is a five speed and one is a six speed also makes a difference

Type of transmission doesn't matter. Main thing is the immobilizer code.
