What gear do you use to Dyno your 5 speed Evo VIII or Evo IX?

I don't have a 5-speed, but you generally want to dyno a car in the gear closest to a 1:1 ratio ... that would be 4th on most vehicles.

+1 squeeze a little bit more in 5th too

4th would be the best to pull the best tq curve and get the most accurate reading

1:1 is not required on a dynodynamics. Curve will be the same regardless of the gear used. We use 3rd on 5speed and 4th on six speed to keep the onboost time reasonable.

Higher gear should make more power, because you're making the engine do more work.
