COBB ProTuner
I dove into the COBB ProTUNING this last month and now have a good grasp on the software.
GST Motorsports now offers the COBB Accessport with full custom ProTUNING. Great for the guys that want a couple maps but don't want to haul a laptop around, or don't own one.
I have to say it's great as a tuner to be able to do full live tuning as the car is running. Saves alot of time when working with small changes when dialing a Evo in.
It took a little getting used to in the interface as the fuel / timing / mivec maps are all flipped around and upside down because of the live tuning because that is how the code actually is in the ECU.
For our first case study I wanted to dive right into a pretty modified car, with aftermarket injectors, cams, turbo, GM 3port solenoid, etc to make sure the COBB ProTuner could handle it. I would say it didn't really have a problem matching the tuning done by the other tool I use.
100oct mapping coming soon, to show the true power of the COBB accessport, switchable maps on the fly!
UPDATE : results Below!

Any questions, feel free to ask away.

Thanks for posting this....this is long awaited good news.
Couple ???'s
The GM soleniod?...since I don't know what that is....I'm guessing a new MAF sensor?
Secondly, and most important to me.....I already purchased a new BOOST HOSE LINE from GST
....awaiting getting protuned.....did you simply use your own line...the same as what I have sitting in a drawer at home?
Thanks

Bryan from GST can explain it better as to why it is good to keep both pills in the line....my limited way of re-explaining it is that the second pill really helps to eliminate air pulses in the line that can cause boost spike....I believe there are other reasons that are important but Bryan should really speak on that.
When WORKS does their Brain Flash tune they mail out a new Boost Hose Line that has both pills...my understanding is that both pills are drilled out with different sized holes in them though. Either way I don't like having the second pill out now...I think it is less reliable....COBB may say otherwise...but I am more comfortable with getting PRO-TUNED and using a new line with both pills.
Bryan can you please expound upon this for all our benefit......Plus maybe you'll sell more LINES

Sorry CPA5,
I went right out the door after posting this to finish up some xmas shopping.
The GM solenoid is a 3 port boost solenoid. It replaces the factory 2 port boost solenoid. The advantage to this piece is that he has faster response and the ability to hold a little more boost up top compared to the stock boost solenoid. Also, when using the 3 port, no pills are necessary, you just run straight vacumn line.
We do use our GST boost assembly on other evos that don't run the 3 port.
Advantage of keeping the stock solenoid and using our boost assembly is that it still keeps it 100% stock looking.

^^^ +1. I'm interested aswell.
Would the GM soleniod benefit if your running cobbs base map (stage 2) or would this just benefit protuners and more modified evos like yours?
CPA5 - I guess i have to buy a new boost line. I lost the stock pill while removing it. Slipped out my hands and fell into some bushes next to my house

I bought the GST boost line back in August for $35The only reason to buy it IMO is for the protune, which Is when I'll install it

Send me a PM, I believe I have a bunch of solenoid side pills, If I find one, I can snail mail you one if you really need it.
