Tune?

is there any way to tell if a car has been tuned without looking at the ecu?

You will need to download the rom and compare it to a stock version for your ecu number. There are stock rom examples at the openecu site.

Its not a 100% full proof by any means but most people when they tune it change stationary rev limiter and normal rev limiter. What year is your 8? Try and see where your stationary rev limiter is

See what rpm the two step is set to. That will be an indicator of whether or not it was tuned. Depending on your year you might not have a 2 step unless it was tuned.

than again, that will only tell you if the two step rev limiter was changed, not necessarily if its been tuned.....i guess you just have to compare the maps to a stock map...

Its all a guessing game until the map gets pulled. You said in a ealier post if it had mods on it its a good chance it was tuned. IMO if the 2 step was moved theres more a chance it was tuned than just mods. AGAIN its all a guessing game untl the OP pulls his map
