I want a better tune
Has anyone tried tuning themselves with the software that comes with the AccessPort? My boost is all over the place was wondering what can be done about it. Plus Im installing my test pipe this weekend so I heard boost creep is a possibility? Anyways, I just want a better tune, and if its not possible to do myself should I get a protune and how much would that cost
What do you mean your boost is all over the place? Are you tuned at all now? What boost controller are you using? Are you bleeding boost bad... if so it may be a leak. Do a leak test.
Did a leak test and no leaks. I have the CAstg2 flash from the accessport currently, and Im not using a boost controller, I have a custom drilled out restrictor pill from cobb
No....do not get a boost controller....You need to go get custom tuned.
There are a couple joints in Cali that can get you hooked up....GST Motorsports for one.
As of right now you won't be able to do any custom tuning of your own until COBB releases the "DO IT YOURSELF" version of the tuning software. Until then just go get custom tuned to take more advantage of your setup

If I can find somebody to buy my AP for semi-close to what I paid for it Im going to sell it and get a real flash. My butt dyno isnt impressed and it should be, as well as the software is taking too long...
If you are not feeling like the stage2 flash is worth it then something has to be off with your car/ap/boost lines/ or something....because the stage 2 91 oct flash completely changed how my car feels....NO Comparison to stock at all.
I'd look into why first and get cobb to trouble shoot with you before you go lose $$ on a new purchase.....That sounds like stuff I do on Forza2...go buy a mod for 3500credits...hate it...then sell it back for 1500credits....in the real world you go into debt real fast doing that.......
Also, i'm just trying to help and give you another perspective...not trying to be a jerk
In terms of the software...the custom Pro-Tune software is already out....the Street-Tuner version may take longer..but you could right away get protuned.

Well I guess I could troubleshoot with Cobb, but how are they gonna help me without being physically at the car? We'll have to go through everything 1 by 1.
and should my boost be fluctuating like crazy? Im on stg2CA map and the boost barely peaks at 1.4 (even though it should peak higher) and when it peaks, its only for a millisecond. Then immediately falls down to maybe .8 or so...Fudgin sucks. If its supposed to be holding boost at 1.5.....Cant imagine how sick the car would be then...

I know that someone from cobb said they had an evo at their shop that was running a base map and had that Injen intake and it was fine...but each car can be different and maybe that intake is throwing things off....once again just a guess.
Also, did you install the cobb ap yourself and the boost lines and everthing?
not to say you did it wrong..but I know for myself...since I'm a mechanical dunce I outsourced that work to pros.
Here is my recommendation. Call cobb...explain problems...have them recommend a shop they would trust for you to take your car too....then when the car is there and the mechanic is looking it over for the probs you describe have cobb on the phone at that moment talking with the mechanic guy......at this point it could be anything....when I changed out my IC pipes I ended up getting leak at one of the clamps....and my boost was off till it got straightened out.
But once again....the stage 2 91 oct map should completely turn your car into another animal...and if it hasn't then something is amiss.
You should also PM christrian from cobb or email him...he is the guy over there you want to talk with.
Also, in your case with the mods you have I would really just invest in getting the car custom tuned by a pro-tuner...then you can take advantage of all your mods and get all this boost stuff fixed then.
GOOD LUCK
