Greddy B-Spec II Tuning Guide

After searching for different Tuning specs for the Greddy B-Spec II controller I came up with a list of possible settings for your desired Boost Pressure.

HERE'S A TABLE I CREATED FOR THE STOCK EVO 8 TURBO

WARNING: IF YOU HAVE AN AFTERMARKET TURBO DON'T USE THESE NUMBERS

SET:
- Sets the Boost Pressure.
- Adjusted in Percentage Value 0 - 100%
- 100% Highest Capable Boost of Turbo.

GAIN:
- Adjusts Boost Consistency

SET GAIN:
- Lowest Boost Greddy Unit will begin increasing Boost under WOT.
- Set as close to your desired boost as possible.
- If set too close to the SET Boost Pressure, will cause Boost Spike.

WARNING:
- Used to Limit Boost Pressure
- When Exceeded the LIMITER will kick in and decrease Boost.
- Should be set 1 pis above desired Boost Set

LIMITER:
- Boost Percentage Reading
- Greddy unit will lower to this pressure once WARNING pressure has been reached.

PEAK:
- Shows Peak Boost Reading
- To Clear, go to Peak Boost Display and hold down SET KNOB unil unit beeps and ---- is displayed.

HERE ARE THE SETTINGS I USED FOR MY STOCK TURBO SETUP

LO (20 PSI)
SET: 50%
GAIN: 5%
SET GAIN: 1.30 kPa or 19 psi
WARNING: 1.44 kPA or 21 psi
LIMITER: L.2

HI (21 PSI)
SET: 50%
GAIN: 10%
SET GAIN: 1.30 kPa or 19 PSI
WARNING: 1.44 kPA or 21 psi
LIMITER: L.2

Strip: (33 to 22)

Gain 18
Start Boost 170
Set Gain 68

Street (23 to 20)

Gain 10
Start Boost 170
Set Gain 60

I might have my set gain and start boost mixed up, but you get the idea. My street setup has great spool up, no surging and holds pretty well.

I wouldn't run any more boost than you are tuned for.

And you can run any boost you want as long as you dont knock on 91

Thanks Broddey, I'm still trying to figure out what's a conservative setting for my DD use. I want to keep my car at 20 PSI...

Weeeell are you keen on tuning your own car?

I would spend some time perusing the ecuflash forum. I learned everything from the guys on there, and you can really make your car run like stink, while having a safe tune.

Well I did have my car tuned to 20 PSI by JustDSM here in Denver, CO. It wasn't my car at the time of the tune, and I'm still new to how the ECU Reflash works. does that mean just the Timing, and A/F ratio were Reflashed? I don't know.

Thanks,

I am sure the guy that tuned it did a great job. As to what/how he tuned is simply a matter of pulling up your timing/fuel tables.

If you are interested in making more power/running more boost, you can

A.) Follow the JustDSM guy around and learn
B.) Teach yourself
C.) Get hooked up with one of the e-flash guys here on the forum, where they teach you step by step everything they do. And for the price, you can't beat the knowledge!

Here are the settings I used on my Controller:

LO (20 PSI)

SET: 50%
GAIN: 5%
SET GAIN: 1.00 kPa

HI (20.5 - 21.0 PSI)

SET: 50%

SET GAIN: 1.00 kPa

Stock Turbo, and you can see my mods below in my signature. Good Luck

those settings won't work for a big turbo unless you want to shoot a rod through the block so keep that in mind

HTA 35R @ 30psi on 93 octane ~ 500+awhp

SET: 60%
GAIN: 7%
SET GAIN: 260 (26.0psi)
Warning 320 (32.0psi)
Limiter 20%

I saw a peak of 31.0psi today with those settings.

Mellon,

Your settings are higher, what are you talking about?

Plus a rod through the block, no biggie, can be fixed with a little superglue right?

On a serious note, why the limiter so high?

you chart says for 23psi to set it to 73%, I'd guess that would be 35-40psi on a larger turbo...not good if you're only expecting 23psi

the limiter setting isn't set in stone while i'm testing the EBC out, but for now I want it to dump boost big time if I hit 32psi so I'll be aware. You can hear/see a damn thing other than the engine at WOT , it's all a blur and loud as hell.

Would this be fairly accurate on a IX turbo?

^ yes, however I have my gain set at 5%.
HI
SetGain- 22.5psi
Set-75%
Limiter-1%(off)
Warning-23psi

^^I hit peak at 24.5-25psi on 91.

LO
SetGain- 18.5psi
Set-65%
Limiter-1%(off)
Warning-20psi

I only use the warning feature to give me an idea of what boost im pushing w/o having to look down. I dont use it as a warning feature, its more like a gauge that just tells me when Im hitting peak, and then at what rpm I start to taper at.

You dont need the warning feature at all.. If you can tune, then just adjust the boost limit table.
