Pos Lc-1?

I thought I might be able avoid having issues with my LC-1 by doing the best possible install that I could, but alas, it might be that a POS is a POS no matter what is done. During some WOT pulls this morning, the reading was falling to 7.35 within the first few seconds of the pull. It would return to normal after the pull though, and there were no error flashes on the LED. I guess I have to dick around with it this weekend to figure out if this is something that can be fixed.

i think my lc-1 is money well spent. Only find myself calibrating it before i use it. Follow the correct steps for calibration. And it should be fine.

Yeah, I think I figured out this weekend that the calibration is being reset, apparently due to its sensitivity to voltage variations. I may have to add a capacitor in parallel with the LC-1 to stop the unwanted resets.

MrFred - if you do this can you post up info.

I think a cap is a great idea but don't really know how to size one or wiring it...

Yeah, I'll post up details when I figure out what's needed.

Lost calibration again. Spoke with Felipe at Innovate. He was adamant that its likely a ground offset issue. I know I did a good job on grounding, and I've read enough on the forums to believe that its not always a grounding issue.

I am going to speak to an Innovate engineer in a few hours to get details on exactly what causes the calibration to go into recalibrate mode (or whatever its doing).

have u stopped using the serial cable?

mine hasn't lost calibration in a while now (since i stopped using the serial)

when you say lost - do you mean the Gas Type is not 41.7 anymore?

Seems to happen with or without the serial cable. The fuel type is still gasoline, but the calibration gets screwed up. Some voltage spike (or significant ground offset according to Felipe who now seems to be blowing off my phone calls) is causing the unit to perform a sensor calibration run at an unintended time, e.g., just as the car is starting up or shutting down.

1.00A. I've heard that 1.10 doesn't fix it.

MrFred get 1.10 - it changes the required amount of time that the calibration button needs to be held down.
