I have a 06 EVO MR with minimal mods; turboback exhaust, CAI, upper IC pipe, turbosmart evo spec. BOV, exedy stage 2 clutch, and reflash.

Here is my problem, it started about saturday night. It had been sitting all day because I was home having a BBQ, so I took it out. And it sounded like the intake was taking in much more air than it used to, it sounds really loud when sucking in air, and the other strange thing is that the BOV does not shoot out air at all anymore when shifting, I don't hear it at all.

It has been hot here all week, so i thought it may have something to do with the temp, but it has not gone away so I am wondering if it is a problem with the tune, or possibly the tune and the BOV, I am not sure. Performance wise, it still rolls but it seems a little more sluggish when building boost.

Any info would be helpful for me to predetermine what the cause is before i take it to a shop.

I would start by doing a boost leak test with an air compressor and if everything is sealed up I would put the stock BOV in and see how it behaves.

 

Currently having basicly the same issues with the TurboSmart BOV... the piston seems to be stuck closed... I sparyed it with SeaFoam Deep Creep... nothing.

Soo tomorow will be Vacuum leak testing beak down the BOV, and possably ordering a Tomei!!
