gauge choice
gauge choice
i have a column mount gauge pod with boost so far that came with the car when i bought it, however i am going to get the 3 gauge pod and radio relocation i am def going with a wide-band, but wasn't sure for the other 2 either, oil preassure or egt were some options but i'd like some input
i was looking at these glow sport gauges a pillar pod with gauges for a real good price just curious about the oil filter adapter it says i mar or may not need one for using an oil pressure gauge , is anyone running a oil pressre gauge or have expierence with one
If it's electric it should come with a sender that works with the gauge. If it's mechanical there will be a line that comes with it to connect to the gauge.
As far as what gauges I have Defi's and they are really nice. As to which ones besides boost I would do EGT and oil pressure.

thanks for all the input, i just had found a site where you can get 3 gauges and a pod for 150 which is dirt cheap they are glow sport, not sure how they are or if there is a huge difference in brands i was going to get 3 from them in the pillar pod then a wide-band for steering column so far i just have boost on steering column was thinking upper console with radio relocation and jsut get wideband and 2 gauges and the pod and relocation but when i do the math it'd be cheaper to get the triple pod and gauges then just buying a dual gauge coulmn for my exsisting boost and the wideband
glow sport is the biggest buch of crap you can get .stay away they are not accurate and they are junk.the pro sport gauges are a little better.i have defi but stri is good for the money.autometer is good and reasonable but most people associate them with domestic cars.by the way all gauge clusters are not the same quality, better go with autometer here for good fitment and lots of location options.as for what gauges you need a boost gauge it is a must and if you are ever going to go big with a turbo (whitch from the sound of it that will not happen )you will probably want one that reads at least 30 psi. a turbo car needs and egt (if you dont know that stands for exhaust temp.gauge) so now you are out of room right.well you still could use oil press. and temp and water temp is a good idea too.i have bought many different brand gauges and this is an issue of ,you get what you pay for.i will post some pics of my gauges installed in the car to show you a few of the options besides an a pillar gauge cluster.all of this is of course my opinion.
