Get a base tune and then get a custom when you get the fmic. Plan on getting cams? Also, why AMS?

From what I understand, anytime you modify a part you theoretically should be retuned. However, the changes to AFRs and whatnot would be minimal from something like an o2 housing, DP, header, and test pipe. To take full advantage of those mods you would need a tune. I ran my Buschur pipe for over half a year with no tune at all. Bottom line, you should not have an issue with those types of exhaust components without a tune. Do you have gauges to monitor your AFRs? That would be the best way to make sure nothing dangerous is happening. Of course, the safest thing to do is to not install any parts until you are prepared for a tune...

Also, opening up your exhaust may cause you to have a spike in boost.

yea im aware of all these things u guys are telling me and the only reason im not going to tune now is because i dont want to do a retune in the summer when i get my fmic i might pickup a wideband for precautions so nothing bad is happening or i might just get an ecu flash i know i wont get the most out of my mods til i get a tune but id like to do a fmic before any of it

most tuners will send you a base flash before they custom tune you. And how it works is if the custom tune is $350, then they will charge you $50 for the base tune and then only $300 when you get your custom tune. Its a win-win situation.
