LC-1 w/ vista

My laptop uses Vista and I am unable to set up the WB. The comp. recognizes the adapter cable and the drivers are installed. The error message I get is "Please connect the device to a serial port and turn on." Help

Sounds to me like you need to plug the cable in and set up the com port manually.
Then always plug it in that same port.
I have my laptop labeled so i dont forget which one's for evoscan and WB.

Thats what I had to do on mine..

Kreionic helped me with mine..

you can search for the user Kreionic and PM him. He'll walk you thru it..

good luck, mine works like a charm.

I figured it out. the adaptor cable needed to be pluged into the WB before u plug it into the computer the first time.
1. uninstall the cable/drivers
2. reinstall the cd
3. plug cable into the WB
4. plug it in a usb port(not in the one you use the tactrix cable)

did you hibernate/sleep the laptop between? Vista is pissy about that (it jacks up USB ports, sometimes when I turn my laptop on the keyboard or mouse doesn't work [usb keyboard/mouse])

I've got an LC-1 coming and have both a vista and XP laptop so I'll get to feel the pain either way

I finally got my lap top to read the LC-1. Logworks is all good to go. Now, when I open up Mitsulogger and choose innovate, I get a stupid error. I hate vista, I really do. Anyone else have this problem?

We got laramie's to work with both his Vista laptop and mine, but we really didn't change anything. The issue, I think, was that his serial terminator is messed up. It didn't "pop" into place like mine or his other one did and I think that it was messing up the communications.

If you're getting issues in the the mitsulogger, then the other app might have the serial port open (the innovate app seems poorly written IMO) or you've got the wrong com port setup. Without knowing what the error is though, I don't think we can help much

I've not even tried to hook mine up to the computer and get it to work with AccessTuner Race... but the gauge works like a champ!

Well, I was able to run Evoscan with the LC-1. At first it wouldn't, but then I found I could choose which USB port I wanted to use and once I clicked it, it started working. I am thinking Mitsulogger just cannot find it. I'm not a computer guru so I haven't a clue. I do know that I hate Vista. So close to smashing my laptop today.
