i have a 2006 JDM Evo IX GT. i bought it from Japan with a couple parts already installed.

the car came with an HKS f-Con installed on the car, i read that i can only tune through an authorized HKS dealer etc? is it possible for me to get the cables and software personally so i can tune?

What model do you have?

The HKS Fcon....... V-pro, S, IS? There are several versions of the Fcon. The Vpro is a full stand alone ecu, like a MOTEC. The others are piggyback ECU's.

You are going to have to take it to a HKS Vpro dealer. They can tune it for you. I got the software to tune mine, but it was very expensive and hard to find. It took me 2 years to find it.

 

full standalone but works with the ECU i believe, gives full control of only fuel and timing. the ECU controls the MIVEC map and boost cut tables, i believe thats it???

where can i get the software? or do you recommend buying another Full Management? no HKS dealers anywhere near here.
