Overheats when defrosters and hot/cold fan is on
I just recently encountered a problem with my 2003 Evo. When I turn the knob on the fan to even at least 1, it starts to overheat and the thermo-meter on the dash goes sky high. Even when I set it to hot and cold, it does the same thing. Same with the defrosters. I'm also pretty sure the thermo-meter isn't broken as my car was running really hot and started to lose power. It pretty much died on me when I left it idle.
The car also overheats when engine is not running but fan and defrosters are on. Don't know why. Anyone know a fix? Car is a 2003 and currently has 108k miles. I didn't do much to the car except beat on it a few times to test it's power. Yes, I just recently got this car last week so I'm pretty sure I didn't touch anything as of yet.
Thanks for any kind of help!
PS
The fan inside the engine bay also doesn't work so when I leave the car idle with nothing on, it starts to overheat. I saw the fan spin by itself once and it was at a slow pace. Don't know if the fan need replacing or some kind of fuse.
