help!! my DD is hurt. transmission?

NO POWER TO WHEELS HELP!!!

ok so for the last few month while in 5th gear above 3k i smell something hot idk what but its not normal.

today i was on the hwy smelled the smell,i got off the hwy and put it into second and kinda gave it gas about half throttle and then boom grind grind grind and then the engine reved up. the car will not put power to the wheels in any gear. with out using the clutch with the car running i can put it in any gear with ease and it acts like it in neutral.. please help!

linkage, clutch, tanny or transfer case?

When my clutch went out, there were very small warning signs, one morning acclerating to 60mph on the freeway and my car starts slipping like crazy. By the time I got to work, any gear I was on would just make the car idle like it was on neutral. I didn't get any booms or grinds though. how much miles you have on your car? anything leaking from your car before this happened? ie. any oil drips when you pull out of your driveway?

no this was just sudden, there were no precursors. the car has almost 99000. i did a complete fluid change last summer so it should be good. it has a twin disk exedy clutch in it so i really would hope thats not it but who knows.. alot of people are telling most likely it the input shaft

pop out the access plug in the bell housing and take a quick glance at the clutch. check the fluid in the trans and transfer case as well. both should give you a direction to start looking whether its a clutch, trans, or TC issue.

i checked the clutch and it moving as it should, but when the clutch is pushed in there is a rattle at the front of the tranny right where it meets up with the bellhousing

i think i found out what the smell was i notice on my front driver tire i had abnormal wear on the inside, then i noticed the fender well was missing some fasteners and had been rubbing on my tire and took it to the cords lol. im guessing it had nothing to do with rpm just speed pushing on my fender well.

i got my tcase and tranny off, i put the tranny in gears spin the input and the out put moves in all gears, so i hookd the tcase up to the tranny and spun the input it moves the rear wheels but not the front..... to me this is very odd cuz if this is the case i should at least had rear wheel driver but i had nothing.. any ideas?
