buying evo with tune problems

hi iam buying an evo it only has 40,000 miles its a 2003 the car has a couple problems owner says tune will take care of the problems they are that the car shuts off when you start it in the cold unless you rev it untill heats up and it is very very slow for a evo i used to own one tht was stock and this one is much slower... the owner says it needs a tune because it used to have a bigger turbo set up and was tuned with that setup...

A tune doesn't cost that much, and the previous owner should know that. If they are suggesting that you should take care of it and then everything else would be fine, I'd be a little wary. It may be that it could use a tune, but you never know what else that poor tune is covering up at the moment. I'd suggest waiting until they have it retuned and then take a look.

+1 if it "supposedly" just needs a tune, tell him to get it tuned!!!
