So I just installed some HKS 272 cams. I was tuning for the cams and was wondering what the normal amount of timing around 5500-7500 is. In order to get rid of the knock i had to lower the timing quite a bit compared to my tune before the cams. If someone can post what their average timing is for the rpm range at about 255 load. I run 93 octane and no alch/meth stock 9.8 hotside turbo and 23lbs boost if it helps. Thanx

 

obviously its going to be different depending on so many things but as a guide around 260load (~24psi) at 5500 was 7* up to 12* 7500 and 14-15* 8000 with the old MR turbo and S1's. you are logging afr's with a WBO2 right?

 

It's going to be difficult to compare someone else's timing map to yours as each car behaves differently...post up a coupe logs of before and after the cam install, maybe you'll get more feedback that way. Like veszett said, were you logging afr, boost etc.
