well i guess i answered my own question, did a little research and found tunertools.com, 149.50 for the 1.3 tactrix cable, make sure you let them know what vehicle you have and they can remove pin 9 for you if you want, and evoscan software 25, and its free shipping for orders over 150.00 and my grand total was 174.50, that was the best i could find

 

I know a guy wanting to sell a 1.3 for $75. I would have picked it up if I hadnt purchased a 2.0 last night for 150...

You can flash with a $5 chinabay VAG COM cable...

 

^^^ love this . I was just doing some research on this vag cable and apparently the software that comes with it will also take care of reading and clearing all abs codes too. I wonder if it works with mutII or mutIII protocol specifically.

so with an evo 8 i can use the same 1.3 cable as my subi? also modded the vagcom for subi and you have to use an old version of ecuflash that doesnt check cable liscence.

 

Tscomptuned.net sell the tactrix 1.3U with the latest Evo scan with updates for $168 I'm not sure what shipping cost but that's the cheapest I've seen it online.

 

1.3R ($95) is my favorite for the 8/9's. I have the OP 2.0 ($A Lot More) for the Evo X and Subarus. A VAG COM ($10) came in the mail yesterday. Can't wait to try that out.

What software do you use with the 1.3R?

 

Evoscan to log and flash. Use ECUFlash like normal and save as a hex file in the rom evoscan folder.
