EVO IX fuel cut and poor/rough idle

Hey guys, i recently purchased an 06 evo, has a few mods such as, aem ram air intake, pierburg boost solenoid, larger intercooler, full hard pipe kit, 3in exhaust, turbosmart dual port bov- running as recirculating with the atmospheric horn installed.... so the idle is pretty choppy, similar to what a cammed vehicle sounds like, after driving for a while and coming to a stop, the idle will drop down and almost stall and slowly work its way back up to normal idle, also in low rpms when i floor it, it hits a fuel cut; like flooring it at 2000 rpm it will cut at around 3000.... i noticed that it has FIC 1350cc blue max's, and i am wondering if it is possible that it was tuned on e85 and now that i am running 93 this would cause these problems.... i am aware that i will have to go to a tuner for a definate answer, but just wondering if these symptoms would be consistent with running 93 on an e85 tune?

thanks in advance.

i cant anser that an e85 tune is your problem, but i can say that the low idle when coming to stop is 99 percent of the time cause by an open atmosphere dump blow off valve, since its expecting that already metered air to return into the system and causing you a rich condition and a bog when comin to a stop.

Sounds like a faulty fuel pump. Is it a stocker or a Walbro? I'd start there and see if that fixes your issue, you can also test the pump with a volt meter to see what kind of power its getting. Also sounds like the blow off valve could be your issue, if its not closing at idle it will cause the car to stall out, its the choppiness that makes me think its a pump. Check both though, try a stocker bov and check the pump.

if your car has dual maps like a stock 91 map and the e85 this does happen if you put the wrong fuel with the map its on. I would suggest putting the key in the on position and floor the gas pedal. If it flashes a couple time it should switch maps. I had a friend with a dual map and if you run the wrong map with the wrong gas it is choppy and the idle is rough as hell!

if it has 2 maps on stock ecu then to switch maps you have to turn the intercooler sprayer on or off since thats how most people do it with the tephra mods, you could also try that.

Are u running the stock ECU or an aftermarket, if u have an AEM u can plug it in ur laptop and figure out whats the issue from there if u don't wanna go to the shop.
