Is Vipec better alot of ppl saying its the way to go currently on aem?
Anybody know?

 

What are you trying to do with this set up? There is a few key features of vipec that make it a tad more capable than the aem. However aem has a lot of well known reputable tuners. Vipec has a rally anti lag and from what I understand doesn't come with knock control. Haltech is probably an excellent alternative to either of these and they all are very close in performance afaik.

Knock control is something you need to inquire about no matter what you go with.

I cant comment on the newer Haltech or AEM as there are very, very few people using it here. There is alot cars using Vipec and are very pleased with the ecus and quality are superb. Btw V88 has 2 internal knock inputs. New Evo 9 plugin have knock input as well. V44 and earlier Evo plugins can do knock control but need an interface that outputs 0-5 v.
Anyway use what the guy mapping your car prefer. Most known ecus will cover the need of what most of us needs.

Vi-PEC Plugin for Evo 4-8 now also have on-board knock control without any external interface.
