timing question
So, in my diligent research I have discovered that there is usually a significant timing increase. I have managed to really tap into the remaining stock parts (turbo & block) and discover the magic of bolt ons. Honestly I understand why people harp on getting tunes.
A few changes to the MIVEC and Spark Maps and wow. This car is like full of little easter eggs. Of course with this great triumph came an issue (yea). I used my infinite wisdom and left my flash cable plugged into the Mistu Comp. all weekend and she was so weak when I got to the Metro that she wouldn't turn over.
I had to call up my in-laws who just so happened to be visiiting the house to come and get me a jump. We just quickly jumped her and got me back to my place but the 5 min trip did nothing for recharging via alternator. So I drove her to work the next day to give the battery some charging time. Started up very weakly on the way home.
Got to the house, put in the new tune I was raving about earlier (stupid, I know), and then she was just dead again. By dead I mean turning the key got lights and fuel pump-- no starter, no cranking.
So then I research battery chargers and get a Schumacker XC6 or something like that from walmart. I charge the battery with fast 6a for 5 and 1/2 hours. Start it for work and it was strong and lively. Cut it off and started again and that 75v for turning it over definately was discharged. It was weaker but started. Drove to the metro and stopped and started again. Weak just like at the house but started.
Can I voltmeter the alternator or should I try and charge the battery again. I heard somewhere that you should disconnect the battery from the car before you start charging. I just charged it like the regular jump start configuration, with the battery still hooked into the car's power system. Any ideas?

If you are letting the car sit by itself overnight and the battery is dead in the morning, it either wont hold a charge or you have a draw somewhere.
Charge the battery, pull the charger off and start the car. Put a DVOM on the battery and kick on the lights and whatever else to put a load on it and see how much the battery drains. Then put the DVOM on the alternator output to see if it is charging the battery or not. That should let you know what is wrong.
