Voltage problems...

Its been a while since I've been on the boards, but I've finally got some time to get the my evo back up and running as it should.

I'll try to keep this short and to the point because this car has a lot of history. Basically I bought the car 5 years ago to replace an evo that was swallowed by a flood that happened here in a New England a few years back. I bought it, put 500 miles on it, ripped everything out and started the build. During the build I bought a ChaseBays engine harness which Brian@Dynotech and myself could not get to function at all. ChaseBays recognized the issue, but would not replace or refund my money so I ate that $1200 . I ended up buying a new harness off a member on the boards and everything seemed to be okay. When we went to tune it on the dyno, the voltage wasn't consistent and caused the FIC2150s not to be scaled or tuned properly. Brian & Tyler figured it was the alternator, so I bought the one off Tylers race evo which seems to be basically brand new and installed it. I didn't have much time with the car because I picked the car up, repaired it that night, and had it back at the shop that same night before midnight, and I was hoping everything would be okay.

When Tyler tried tuning it everything seemed to be good at first. Car idled well and cruised okay, but as soon as the rpms started climbing the voltage started dropping.

I know the voltage regulator is within the alternator itself. Could it be possible I've has 2 consecutive bad alternators? Ive check all the grounds and ground everything down to bare metal to be sure of good contact. Still nothing...

Something else I should mention is the engine bay in this car was "de-cluttered" and painted midnight purple to match the rest of the car. During that process I deleted the ABS system. Could this have anything to do with the voltage being all over the place? All associated ABS components have been stripped out, but the plugs for the module are still there, just tucked away. Could this be a potential problem?

Thanks guys! Sorry I've been so absent the past year or so!

Some eye candy for your troubles...
