BUMP X3

I am told that a company in Colorado (puredriveperformance@gmail.com) can tune a Evo7. I am not 100%, but says they can. I don't have another $400 to try right now, but will in the future if my tune doesn't go well.

BUT, we are still looking for the correct SD ROM.

ecktt - did your come with a factory MAP sensor?

OK, so the issue.......some E7's came with MAP sensors and some did not.......why? I have no idea. The one's that came with a MAP can use the SD ROM that everyone has, the one's that did not, can not. I have the one that did not have a MAP from the factory. I had a Apexi Power FC in the car back in 2003-2007(before Evo's where in the states) and had to switch 2 wires for fuel and a/c to start the car and also had to add a MAP sensor but then went back to stock ECU when people started to dig more into the stock ECU.

So that is the dilemma.......

I have NO problem paying ANYONE with a WORKING ROM that will start the car on SD for a EVO 7 that came W/O factory MAP (have one now with Spoolinup Cable not connected yet-cause no one has the correct ROM)

Hi victor,

I think you should convert to evo 8 ecu and run normal sd rom or take it to a nearest tuning shop, so they can figure out whats going on ? why there is no start ?

And that, to me, ruins the authenticity of the car. I would have to change the harness too......

@gvr4v
Yes my car came with the MAP sensor (an all but pointless 1bar which I changed for a Omni 4 bar) but even if yours didn't, there should be a spot on the intake manifold for you to drill for a complete factory finish. I have seen Evo 8s without the sensor but withe cast marks for the MAP, which brings me to my second point. Changing to an Evo 8 ECU makes little sense because it maybe a ECU without the MAP as well. But depending on the version of the 8 ECU, the wiring harness might fit (Australia hred works on 4,5,6&7).

ref to this thread for instructions on wiring a map sensor.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...or-wiring.html

or http://www.spoolinup.com/Evo-Speed-D...ness_p_74.html has anice solution

Yea, the directions on the Spoolin info is wrong. I have the harness, Map sensor and IAT in the car as stated before......

Even if I put a 8 ECU in I would have to change the pin locations to make it work.......

not sure but i do remember reading about it years ago. You might as well find a evo 7 ECU that had the MAP. Unless it's a physically different ECU, wouldn't the MAP work with the Tephra ROM?

Interesting. I've never seen a 7 that didn't have a map sensor. However I would be surprised if it needs any sort of special rom to work. Which rom did you try that didn't work?

LHD EDM 7´s ( GSR ) didnt have an Map sensor stock, but it is possible to run SD with one wire connected to the Map input pin. (Pin position is free at the connector

Works flawless with the 9055xxxx sd Roms

The same but different Rom is applying to EDM LHD Evo 8´s GSR
