Spec ops, Forcefed, or Tscomp tune?
Hey folks,
I've been reading numerous threads about these shops, finding mainly threads for Tscomp. I would just like to hear you good/bad experiences on who to go with. If i go Tscomp the plan is to go Speed Density, which i've read mostly good things on. The other two shops have suggested to tune on the MAF. I would just like to hear everyone's feedback good/bad on who/what set up(SD or MAF) you would go with and why. The car is an '06 MR with UICP, TBE, Wally 255, and intake. I just got in 1,000cc injectors and omnipower 4 bar map sensor. If i go to SpecOps or Forcefed I can physically get the car on the dyno vs. Tscomp would be a remote tune(which i would have to purchase tactrix, evoscan, and a PC since i have a mac). It would cost me a significant amount more to go speed density, I just want reassurance that it is worth it.
Thank you

I'm friends with the guys at both Force-Fed & Spec-Ops. Honestly, you can't go wrong with either shop. Personally I would rather my car be put on a dyno & tuned in front of me instead of being remotely tuned. Remote tunes can still be done very well & help most people meet the goals for their car. I say call the 3 places mentioned above, see what they can do for you, pricing, their schedule, etc. Most of the time a phone conversation can help you figure out which shop you would feel most comfortable taking your car to.

You can do boot camp on your mac and install windows to use a tactrix cable. Tom can tune live via Wi-Fi while you are on the Dyno too. So those costs aren't much different. I love SD so that would be a deciding factor for me.
I'll have to check into that Thank you. Is the driveability on the SD a lot better than the MAF was?
SD is by far better that MAF....
also about tuning on a dyno...
if you tune on road you can log info while changing gears (logs are VERY interesting to see while changing gears believe me),
i dont think on dyno you can do that...
Michael.

What matters is the person tuning the car and their knowledge.
I retune dyno tunes 24/7 and improve them drastically. That doesn't mean road tuning is better, it just means the person tuning is more knowledgeable or has more attention to detail then the other person.
I hold the highest HP and trap speed for the MAF also. I hate the MAF and try to make sure everyone ditches it also.
Speed density is superior in every way shape and form.
Here is my blue car on speed density
Here is the silver car
Even the silver car with the rusted gas tank drove really well.
& Blue car has things I've improved even since that video was made.
I am very meticulous on my tunes. I dont get results because they come easy. I work hard for them. Im also a quick learner. It only took me 30 minutes to figure out how to eliminate lean spike on take off once I first put my car on SD.
