UTEC Parameter file change

Guys, if you have already purchased a UTEC i noticed a small mistake in our default parameter file.

Take a look at the special constants parameters and change the TPS threshold for mapping % to 25.

This was set by mistake to 80% as the default value during UTEC development.

The benefit of the change is better part throttle mapping control.

Thanks for pointing that out.. I think mine is one that has that param set that way and was wondering why it was so high when open loop transition is about 30% on this car.

We set it during software testing here in the states, and for some reason it was never changed back to the default of 25%

I suggest everyone check and change this value.

This allows the Utec to take control a bit earlier.

What do you mean by "surging?"

The surging is caused by the transition from the ECU in closed loop part throttle, to the UTEC's control, I noticed it this morning in the really cold weather, 25% is just before going from closed loop to open loop operation.. you can set it to 35% if you want to minimize it.. 30%TPS is when the stock ECU goes into open loop mode.. but I found at exactly 30% it still would surge when it transitions from being on-throttle (UTEC Control) to off throttle (Stock ECU)

If 35% works best, then I’d suggest using that on your car. The key here is to get it set very closely to the closed loop/open loop transition.

Revision, in this weather on my car, 33 or 32% worked for me.. It doesnt go away altogether, but at 25% its SEVERE, cruise RPM's and the throttle position to maintain it is way too close to 25% that you'd be transitioning constantly while accellerating slowly or closing the throttle after passing.

Also, with an aftermarket exhaust, you might want to go through and adjust the boost map settings to 85-95 since the boost on my car is riding around 21psi consistently.. so I dropped it a little to get around 19.5psi and a little lower at lower load points to keep things a bit more sedate..
