Switching to a map that hasnt been set yet

When switching to a map that hasnt been set yet on the Utec, does the stock ECU run its regular map?

The reason I am asking is because I have a Dynoflashed ECU right now, but I would like to have my UTEC on on my drive to when I get tuned for the UTEC.

I took the car for a spin with the switch on map 1, but noticed the car ran pretty crappy for the most part. I figured it was due to not being tuned for my mods(3in turboback, 272 hks cams, rmr cone filter, turbo xs mbc), and more importantly the dynoflash tune on my evo.

With a zero or blank (unused) map the UTEC will run stock ECU values, i.e. Timing and boost will be ECU values and the fuelling will have 0% change on the MAF signal.

Hello Ken,

You definitely do not want to run your car with a tuned ecu then run one of our maps that has been tuned as well. This will make your car run dangerously lean. Map zero is best until you are tuned again.

Thanks,
Jermaine~

OK cool...so just curious, but for the noob that I am, assuming that I have a tuned(dynoflash) ecu, will it run the values that was flashed onto my ecu from Al? Or will the blank map only run values that turboxs programmed into my ecu that are stock values from a completely bone stock evo?

Ken,

When you input ECU in to a target location on the utec's maps you will be running "your" ecu's values (Al's Mapping).

Thanks,
Jermaine~
