Ray's UTEC studder transition log

o.k. here is a pretty good look at the studder. It happens from the transition from 0 load to 10%. There is a big difference in the amount of timing at the transition. Can i up the timing in the 10% load column to transition more smoothly?? And if so, how high can i go? I would think that 10% load would be safe for a quite large bump in timing for smoothness....

Your definitely going to have to interpolate the values so their close if you want the stumble to go away..

Ya know... here's a dumb suggestion, copy your map into an unused map slot, and go in and remove all the timing modifications so the timing is exclusively ECU, see if the stumble goes away (it should if its the timing doing it).. This should also allow you to capture some target timings as a starting point from the ECU that may work for you then you can add back the 100% load cells and interpolate the values between the transition point and the 100% point... Its probably more dramatic at lower engine speeds where there's less lRPM w/ more Load going on and the stumble is much more severe/obvious.

I am working on something that should help you out quite a bit in the morning. The more I think about this, the more I think I need a little extra resolution down in those lower columns so that I can really smooth out the transition as you tip in and get into boost.

I’ll share more on this after I play around with the EVO in the morning.

Until then, you might want to try adding a few degrees to the above section of the map.
