Confused about evoscan
Confused about evoscan
First, sorry if this is the wrong area or if this has been covered. I searched around a bit and didn't seem to find what I need.
Car: 2003 evo 8, tuned on speeddensity
Cable: 1.3U from evoscan
Im very new to this and cant seem to get evoscan to work. I plug both the ends of the cable into the car and the USB to my laptop running evoscan. I have 1.3 selected as the cable. When I start the car and hit "Start data logging" it doesn't work and says to check the cable.
I'm sure this is problably a novice mistake on my part somewhere, but like I said I've never done anything like this and would greatly appreciate some help

1. Uninstall Evoscan 2.9 and uninstall all Openport drivers.
2. Reboot and install .NET 3.5 from here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down...ion.aspx?id=21
3. Download EvoScan 2.9.0100 from the Evoscan site using the login you created when you purchased the 1.3U cable.
4. Install EvoScan 2.9.0100, but do not install the Openport 2.0 drivers
5. Install the FTDICOM drivers required for the 1.3U cable by running dpinst.exe in C:\Program Files (x86)\EvoScan\EvoScan v2.9\USB Drivers\
6. Plug your 1.3U cable in to the USB port and check that it is recognized by Windows 10 PnP - you should get an audible tone. If not, you probably have a Chinese knockoff 1.3U cable with the wrong FTDI chips.
7. If OK, run EvoScan and log.
