Engine failure

Good luck! I feel your pain.
I did a rebuild with forged parts. It went wrong when the oil pump balance shaft bolt came loose, resulting in rod knock.
I then threw all the OEM stuff back in. Fail. Thrust bearing was bad and the engine started eating it.
I gave up and ordered an OEM shortblock from Mitsubishi. No more playing around.
Car now runs like a champ. LOL.
Hang in there!

Balance shaft bearing failure is 100% a mechanical issue, there is no point in investigating the logs! When such failure occurs it's likely to be catastrophic as such. My advice for your future build, get an aftermarket BS bearing set, aftermarket BS belt, a brand new oil pump. ALWAYS keep an eye on your oil pressure, install an oil pressure gauge.
