300WHP EVO 8/9 Whats needed? 2017

Hey so i dont have an EVO yet but i am planning on getting one very soon. I have been doing research as much as i can and have learned that the EVO X makes 300WHP with relative ease and simple breather mods plus tune. Ive also read through the 8/9 dyno threads and its seems like they need a bit more bolt ons to reach this number but all the builds have been different and all the threads are from years ago when the car was very new and people were still experimenting so its hard to tell. I have always wanted a 8/9 but am becoming more open to the X's.... So my question is in this day and age with the 8/9 having years of R&D in the aftermarket sector what simple mods would get these cars to 300WHP safely and reliable with little effort and on pump gas. Any current relavent info or a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated

Stock evo's with a mild tune will make 300whp. Basic bolt-ons and a tune will get you to ~350 whp.

Here's a good thread that discusses the all those details

If you have other questions, please let us know (if you run E85, the gains are phenomenal)

Oh ok good to know... I just saw a few dynos of 8/9's and they will only pushing 270-280 ish hp with full intercooler piping, TBE, Intake, Fuel pump and injectors and i thought that seemed low but maybe that was on purpose just super conservative? From what you are saying a Conical filter, CBE, HFC, and a solid tune should definitely get them in the 300WHP range? Thats all id want really.

LOL, Yeah, threads are not super formatted & not always accurate. If you have some specifics you want answered, maybe we can help?

BTW, I run a completely stock motor & with a tune, set at 407 WHP on a Dynojet but Im on ethanol brew

I remember a guy with an VIII that tuned a HFC, 3" exhaust, and MAYBE injectors (for safety), IIRC. Did right around 300whp.
it's been a while, so the details are fuzzy. I just know it was really easy.

Nothing specific as of yet just general knowledge gathering while im searching for the right one to come around still trying to decide on a 8/9 or X and what sets them apart. Damn kudos! I know E85 is the way to go for serious power its just not practical for what i intend to use the car for (DD).

Yeah that makes sense. yeah i would do a LICP, HFC, EBC, CBE, And a full intake plus tune and call it a day and im assuming that would be more than enough to hit at least 300whp right?

Should be. I made around 350+whp with the stock intake/box/panel filter, so you can even leave that, if you are really looking to be on a budget.

It's one reason I love the car. The handling and driving characteristics, ease of tuning, ease of passing smog.. all reasons.

My car makes 293whp on a conservative tune (daily driven) at 25psi.

I have full turbo back exhaust, Wally 255, full STM intake, MBC, STM tune, stage 2 clutch and LTW flywheel plus other odds and ends that I am probably forgetting.
