300WHP EVO 8/9 Whats needed? 2017

yea I don't think it's THAT easy to hit 300whp. will definitely need full bolt-ons. IIRC there's also a decent difference between 8s and 9s unless u are planning to do cams

See now its getting interesting lol.. Other than the Mivec, turbo and diverter valve, which im sure accounts for easier HP gains what other things should be taken into account?

Just MIVEC and the turbo. My IX made 333whp with just a MBC, fuel pump, injectors, and exhaust, if I remember right. VIII should do 300.

Man, you guys have me worrying I'm doing something wrong. lol

I make 335 on a Mustang Dyno (does that really make a difference?) with bolt ons, cams, and a BBK full. Im on SD by the way. 300 Whp doesnt seem that hard to get to, and from what I have gathered it is mostly about freeing up the flow of the engine. Good luck!

i made 300hp 300/tq with full 3in turbo back exhaust, wally 255 pump, intake, and ebc on 91 octane at 25psi. thats on an 03 evo 8 with the 9.8 hotside

Mustang Dynos use a lower multiplier than others. I have a dyno pull that was 398whp DJ and 347whp Mustang Dyno. DJ used a 1.09 multiplier while MD used 95.

Dynos can be adjusted anywhere in between, but MD usually reads lower than anything else.

My Evo 8 made good numbers with minor bolt ons, 311whp 290wtq. On a Mustang dyno @DBW Motorsports in Atlanta GA.

Stock turbo 9.8
255 walbro
Lower intercooler pipe
Greddy type s bov
o2 External dump
3" inch down pipe
Test pipe
Hks exhaust straight pipe
Aem electronic boost controller

everything else was stock.

Current Evo IX

27psi
Perrin Intake
Header/Cut-out
Greddy EBC
Self-tune
Stock injectors/pump/engine/cams etc.

VD shows 349whp/318 wtq on dynojet settings.

I'd say it's easy. Lot's in the tune. Previous owner tune with the same mods ran 286whp/265wtq at 23 psi.

Old Evo VIII

Wally 255
860cc injectors
IX turbo
HKS 272s
3" catback
Stock intake

Previous owner tune 255whp/275wtq (what a **** tune) at 25 psi.
My tune: 390whp/380wtq at 31psi. Also Dynojet settings.

Get a good tuner and some bolt ons, make some power for cheap!
