Lc2 killing sensors
Lc2 killing sensors
Hi everyone. Bought an LC2 so I could map my car. The first one worked great for a couple of weeks but then i got an error 8. Sent the sensor back which was fine so I sent back the module and got a brand new sensor and module sent me back me. Great. Worked for about a month but then the error 8 was back. Sent it back again and have been told the sensor was toast, but after 16 hours on the dyno the module was fine and hadn't killed another sensor during testing. Apparently error 8 is normally caused by either running the car without the wideband powered, which literally never happens, or having the ignition on without the car running which can nacker the sensor because it doesn't have the engine warming it up. That only ever happens if I'm uploading a new map and there's nothing I can do about that tbh. If it was an issue i imagine they would have made an easy way to not power the module at certain times.... The module is powered using a fuse piggyback from under the dash, but from an empty slot that according to the diagram isn't in use at all, earthed straight back to the battery. I don't have an actual gauge wired in at the moment. The sensor is right down the exhaust by the 2nd crossbar so is miles from the turbo. Has anyone got any sparky ideas as to what could be causing it? I've read a few threads about the LC1 having issues but none on the lc2, and I know someone who swears by theirs.
Any opinions welcome
