Buying my first Haltech questions

Hey guys, I’ve searched and found little information on these haltech ecu. I’m looking to buy a haltech elite 1500 with pnp harness. From my understanding, the 2000 and 2500 are for engines with more cylinders. But do they hold any more benefits for our cars? I plan on getting the WB1 sensor. And the flex fuel sensor, as I’m going to be running both fuels. Is that all I’m going to need? Will I need oil pressure sensors and fuel pressure sensors? And I’m curious how my double pumper will wire up to the ecu.

Only difference between the 1500 and the other 2 are they have more inputs the rest of it is the same. If you wanted to run say 8 injectors the 2500 would be the way to go. The double pumper depends on whose it is and how it is wired. Mine is a bulletproof and I have the first pump hooked up like stock and the second is hooked into the ecu. I do not run boost control or a hobbs switch. I forget what input I have it to, I don't currently have the car here to look. That is the basic way to do the double pumper. The pnp harness is fine what I use as well, makes things easier to use and wire up the way they are designed. Wideband should plug right into the harness if you got the standalone with all the extra cables. Same goes with the flex fuel. It is pretty straight forward.

i would go with the elite 1500 pnp package. They are super easy to work with and the elite 1500 is a great ecu.
fuel pressure and oil pressure sensors are both optional but highly recommended. (I personally use them to setup failsafe features and adjust injector flow if fuel pressure drops for any reason).
If you need any help setting up the double pump feel free to reach out. (The pnp harness will have an aux plug that has an available lowside driver you can trigger a pump relay with).

That aux plug won't work with his current bp double pumper being the double pumper is set up for boost activation. He would have to send it back to bp as I did to have it reconfigured for ecu control.

Just had a look through a few old tunes and i used DBW1 P1 for secondary pump control on an old EVO 8 elite 1500 car. (Not in the aux plug, wire right to elite 1500 ecu plug**)

Same output you used on your car for your double pump setup? You still have AC in her?

Nice one, i'm sure your excited to be reunited with the car so you can start enjoying her!
I always forget how much smaller/fewer inputs/outputs the Elite 1500 boxes have compared to the 2500 or even the AEM 506 or 508 Infinity boxes. I guess the majority of the Haltech stuff i have to do is over 4cyl so always on the Elite 2500 box (if using haltech that is).

Yeah I am looking really forward to being reunited. I have an advantage with the 1500 really having an RS. I don't have half the stuff that other cars have that needs the extra inputs/outputs.

Right, anyone with a MR is forced into the bigger 2500 box (not a bad thing, just more $$ to spend). Going off on a tangent, I personally use the AEM infinity 506 on my RB25 as the price is close to Elite 1500 but it has 6 inj/coil drivers and plenty of inputs/outputs for my setup + saved me a good chunk of $$ over the Elite 2500. Side note: I do prefer the knock control strategies of the Infinity ecu, while the Elite knock control works great i really like the Infinity's knock strategies and individual cylinder trim options. **Had there have been an Elite ecu option that supported 6cyl, DBW and cost sub $1500 i very well may have gone with the haltech.

Most importantly when do you get to be reunited with your EVO? Nothing like getting to drive a car you've been missing!!!

Yeah they are positive and negatives I guess to any of the aftermarket stuff. I don't know when I will get to see my car. It has been there a year and 2 months so who knows. Last I heard motor was going to be built this week but no updates yet.

Hello, I'm looking to buy the Haltech 1500 but only want the the sensors that are absolutely necessary. This will not be a track car so I was thinking oil pressure, fuel pressure, and flex fuel sensors. Any thoughts?

Yeah that is all I have for sensors, fuel pressure, oil pressure and flex fuel sensor. In less my wide band counts and my ign1-a could count as well those are the only sensors I run. But my car is on a totally different planet it sounds like yours is going to be.

Awesome. Thanks for your help. The engine is built for 800hp but the rest of the car is OE so I only plan to tune it to around 500hp. Like I mentioned it will probably never see the track so I don't want to spend more than I need to.
