Lol I get it. I have prob spent 10x what I spent for the car by now on things I didn't need and or what nots. So i totally get it. I think I am in need of a afpr currently. My car has developed a problem with losing fuel pressure so we will see.

Yeah I was reading how long you've been without your car. I hope you get it back soon. My Evo was down for 6 months but everything has been rebuilt. The only OE parts are the head and block. My tuner also wants to run speed density but I've read that's for really high rpms. I'd rather stay with the MAF.

Uhhh idk who told you that but thats incorrect sir. Speed density helps eliminate all the headaches the maf creates. Can it be for high reves yeah kinda being the maf sometimes can't hang with larger turbos up top. You will over run them with airflow. Speed density is the way to go being any type of leak you may have your car isn't going to fall on its face and be undrivable. Your tuner is correct speed density is the way to go.

Speed density is definitely the way to go.

If you're going with the Haltech ECU i would 100% recommend speed density, no need to keep the MAF as other mentioned.
Any good tuner (assuming you have good injectors) will be able to tune the car to run and drive as smooth as stock on speed density. I have tuned hundreds of engines on the Elite series Haltech ECU's and 97% of them are speed density setups.
If you're looking for extra resolution for the fueling you can add a fuel trim table RPM/TPS that will trim the main/base fuel map (VE table) that is MAP/RPM. (this is super helpful for ITB turbo engines or small engine BIG throttle body turbo engines.)

Agreed, I know my car drove so much better once I got rid of my maf. The extra resolution really helps with getting everything nice and smooth for sure. I know my tuner has the car setup I think in 500 pm increments from 750 to I think 2000 rpms and I think along cruise rpms as well. This makes it so much easier to pinpoint hard to tune areas and allow the car to smoothly adjust to it.

Speed density vs MAF

Lots of good info. I appreciate the feedback. I can't remember exactly where I read about SD being the preferred choice only for higher rpms. I do remember the article mentioning rpms of 8K and higher. I don't plan to go anywhere close to that. I'll do another search and if I find the article I'll reference it. Thanks again.

Dude it will look so nice in the dash. I love the way it looks in mine. I just tweeked the colors in mine. I liked the stock night settings on the dash so I went with all those day and nite. I still need to install the fuel level stabilizer being it gets annoying watching the fuel go up and down all the time. Make sure you take some pics for me, I would like to see how you set yours up with colors and what choices you choose to monitor.
