Question 96530706 Tephra V7 compatibility?

Hello. I recently downloaded the 96530706 rom from Tephra`s site but after transfering all of the tables from my rom to the v7 the car wont start. Immo is disabled and the car only cranks but wont start. I found on another thread that another guy had the same problem and he found out that he had the wrong rom but never specified which rom he changed to. So my question is, is the 96530706 compatible with an JDM 2003 Evo 8 GSR? Or should I try another rom? If so which one should I try?

I understand that it is possible to run 96530706 on JDM 8 GSR's, but you will need to disable certain periphery bits like disabling the rear O2 sensor. I did not go down this route, so cannot be more specific other than to say I'm sure there are threads about this hiding somewhere on EvoM.
The alternative is 96260709, which is what the rest of us are using, I think. My original ROM was 93660005. You will need to donate to Tephra to get 96260709, but I am not sure if he is still supplying it to be honest - does he mention it on his website? He is selling TephraMod V3 for Evo X via the Evoscan website, but there is no mention of Tephra V7.

I donated for the 96260709 back in August 2021 but never received it. So I chose to try with the 96530706 instead since I read it is compatible with all Evo 8s.

I can send you this mod. I have a JDM EVO (evo 8 MR ECU) and it works on 96530709 but doesn't work on 96260709, it just starts up and shuts down after 10-15 sec. Judging by what you wrote, the immobilizer is not disabled.

If it's easy for you to send me the mod I'd like to try it and see what happens. I'll pm you my email.

I came across this old thread on an unrelated search and thought it might help: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...ispreloading=1
I think it matters less that the original ROM is 9626* and more that they have steps to get JDM Evo's to run 9653.

The problem is that just on 9653 the machine works without problems. But when I want to run it on 9626, it starts up and stalls after 10-15 seconds.

Hmmm, in that case I'd work backwards from the steps listed in the thread I linked to. As an example, I know that the MAF compensation/scaling tables are different between 93660005 (which I assume was your original ROM) and 96260009.

Have you copied all of your tables across to 9626? If not, compare and copy across all of your tables across to 9626 and see how that goes, but firstly, you must check your scaling definitions in the xml's for each ROM to ensure they are defined the same. There have been various scalings and definitions over the years, so it's likely at least some don't match up. If you do find different scalings between the xml's, then start over on modifying the 9626 ROM.

Yes, I checked this data, everything is the same as in 9653. but I will check again. if the scaling was incorrect, then the machine would work poorly, but it works fine, without deviations, it just gnaws after 10 or 15 seconds and gives an error 0300 and then does not start for some time.

P0300 is disabled in my stock 93660005 ROM and in my current 9626 ROM. Are the two bits disabled for it in your ROM? Otherwise, I can see that there are a lot of threads about P0300 on EvoM so hopefully one of those might help.

I'm not an expert in ROM disassembly, but it looks like the the FCA periphery bits are defined correctly for the 9626 ROM... but I could be wrong.

Did you edit the bits using the correct method? In the image attached, to enable the two P0300 tests I would edit the highlighted table and change the value from 0x8889 to 0x88B9. I know you want the tests disabled, so this is just an example.

No matter how strange it may sound, but turning off the periphery does not affect my situation in any way. I am using your xml file for 96260009 that you posted on this forum. as an option, I want to try to start the machine on 96260007, maybe something will work out.

I went ahead and flashed 9653 again (Had some problems with my front o2 before) and now im getting 4 fault codes that I`m not so sure on how to fix them thru ecuflash.
These are the fault codes.
P0141 Heated Oxygen Sensor Heater Circuit Fault (Rear)
P0403 Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Control Solenoid Circuit
P0243 Turbocharger wastegate solenoid 1 circuit
P0090 Fuel Pressure Solenoid Circuit

If anyone knows how to fix them please reply or pm me.

Have you followed the steps in the thread that I linked to above? There are a bunch of screenshots that help clarify it.

I compared the screenshots of the periphery bits to mine (in 9626) and there are a couple of differences, I think. I have rear O2 disabled and still have bit 15 in FCA enabled:
