track update - best time on new map

had a great night, until the last run. the last launch trashed my clutch, and when i made the 2-3 shift the bushing came out of the front to back shifting cable that connects to the transmission. could not shift out of 2nd gear. nice to know that wnet first instead of something in the tranny. nice call mitsu. nothing like turning wrenches at the track, just to get home. new clutch install this week. any suggestions?

anyway - i slowly bumped up the timing in MJ's map for each run. ran quicker each run. first two runs on 93 second two on 100. last run turned boost to 21 tapered to just under 20.

1.828 - 60
8.468 - 1/8
82.69 - mph

1.800
8.362
83.32

1.764
8.325
83.85

1.768
8.234
85.06

hit my goal of 8.2x in the 1/8th on current mods. never got a knock. turning the boost up really improved my MPH. this run would have put me around 12.8x in the 1/4.

the utec is awesome. cant wait to get my wideband tuner. so i can really see whats going on. last track day until i get the tuner (and new clutch. lol)

Its nice to see that map is doing what it was supposed to do.. I really would not beat the car too hard until you get your wideband though..

Also, you might want to get an EGT gauge installed so you can find a good mixture/timing that won't also run high EGT's..

I'm glad my map is working out for you, and especially that your able to gain quite a bit with more timing.. but I seriously would hold off until you get the wideband setup.

Wow.. my prediction for the map and your mods was pretty close..

I'm really glad this map works for you guys..

BTW, how much timing were you running? On my car its actually pretty aggressive ECU timing at higher RPM, it didn't need much timing played with.. I started noticing in the midrange was where my car could start using a bit more aggressive timing.

i just looked at what the ecu was running on your map and then pulled it back 1 point and then 2 points from 4250 to 7500 across the board.

this graph was your map with stock timing on my car. so you can look at that and see what the adjustments were for the last 2 runs. run 1 was stock ecu timing, run 2 1 point, run 3 2 points, run 4 2 points boost increased 1 psi.

i am done racing or tuning until i get my new clutch, WB, and guages installed. just wanted to play a little.
