I don't know that I'd ever feel comfortable revving my engine to over 8000rpm.. even with head studs.. I might consider it if I beefed up the conn-rod bolts.. But I'm planning on doing a stroker..

You guys are in for some good stuff though.. there's a few cool things in there...

Not yet, I will be when I finish building a new head for the engine.. not worth wasting it on this head, also the same reason I haven't installed my Cams yet..

Which stoker kit are you looking at. I am thinking about doing the same thing. I like the 2.2 tomei so i can still rev reliably to 7k. But the cheapness of the eagle kit looks pretty good too.

Ben

Sorry for going OT

I'm likely going with the Eagle setup.. I have my race engine (small block chevy) built with eagle rods, and crank.. Rev that bad boy to 7500rpm on occasion.. I'm confident their kit will be stout..

I think AMS is also using eagle components, I think they have custom slugs though.. I actually like AMS stuff, so It was actually the kit I had in mind when I said an Eagle kit..

If the eagle setup can rev to 7500 everyday without problems i will do that set up. My 383 stroker kit i barely took it to 5k so that is why i was worried. I love the domestic manuacturers(such as perrin and now eagle ) they make good parts and you don't have to pay a ton for importing.

I have the 383 Eagle stroker kit and a Supercharger running at 10psi.. 7500rpm without failure.. Forged crank, I did magnaflux, chamfer, and blueprint everything though..

Yeah i plan on doing most the work on the engine myself like putting it together and such. But I am definatley wanting it to be dynoed and maybe port and polish the head and put cams in at the same time. But all of this is if I can afford everything for school and my car and insurance payment. But definatley would make it easier to save 2-3k on just parts.

That sounds pretty sweet. I am guess there is no difference between a stock EVO7 head and our USDM head. So the conversion would be simple and you could do it in a weekend so you can still go to work. When (and if) I do mine I would like to get a HKS head gasket or some other aftermarket good quality one. And it would also be nice to build everything to stand 25+ psi and slap on a nice turbo.

Do you know of anyone using the FP Green turbo? It is a pretty sick little turbo that the suby crowd are using with very good results. I think it was something like 27 psi by 3500 RPM. A couple guys in the SLC valley are running 12.6 and below on those. But then again they do have the every .5L of displacment to spool it up.
