Getting ready to tune
The sensor itself is adequate, but you need to be certain that you are aware of any noises (possible knock) that would not trigger the flashing CEL.. Remember, the Knock detection Flashes the CEL light after it hits a threshold, if you are listening for it, you will hear things below the threshold that would not necessarily be detrimental, but could cause knock activity in the future if the load or conditions were different, so its good to be aware of it and adjust your tune accordingly.
I always listen to the engine when I'm doing a tune.. so far the UTEC's knock detection has been pretty good in detecting knock and not giving false positives.. But its something you have to be careful of since your putting your faith in the sensitivity.. On my car, I have determined the settings are close to what I would hear.. in a different car it might need adjustment..
