To Blow Off or Not?
Sup everyone,
I just recently had my car flashed by Vishnu, and they recomended not to install a BOV. ONly upgrade it too the MR BOV. Does anyone out there have A Bov on thier Evo? Hows it affect the idiling? I really want one!

1. I have a Forge vent-to-atmosphere (VTA) compressor bypass valve (CBV). I have no issues with idling and stalling at all.
2. If you want to spring for an MR CBV, then more power to you. It works just like the stock GS-R/RS CBV. So you won't have any issue with idling and stalling. The MR valve usually goes for $300-450 price range.
3. If you don't want to spend money on an MR one, Forge sells a recirculating CBV that works a lot like the MR CBV. It's also a lot cheaper. Check the Forge website. There's also an install walkthroug on the EvoM Features's Project Evo page.
4. These links should help provide you with some information:

Good luck, and feel free to post up if you have any questions.

Also, a note on terminology. You basically have 2 types of valves: vent-to-atmosphere and recirculating.
Forge calls both types of valves BOVs, and then further distinguish them by VTA or recirculating.
MachV uses the term CBV to mean the recirculating one, and BOV to mean the VTA one.
Other people will have different terminology for it. So I just wanted you to be aware. It can get confusing sometimes.
I prefer to use the term CBV to refer to both types of valve in general, and then distinguish them by VTA or recirculating. I avoid the term BOV altogether because it generates too much confusion.
